sir,why did you mark the axis intra-op.when it is advisable to do the referance marking pre-op with the patient in a sitting position to take care of cyclorotation of the eye in the supine position?
My first eye surgery was in June 2008. Today, I had the YAG laser procedure on this eye. The other eye doesn’t need the procedure yet. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that was very easy, nothing to fear if you need to have it done. I think it took about five minutes start to finish and involved no more that remaining still and seeing a red light–no discomfort of any kind during or after.
Iam 11 years old and iam a have this when iam 15 igot the catarac from a shot of a paint ball gun
I needed surgery for quite awhile before I finally had it done, and actually, I’m glad I waited because my surgeon didn’t do toric implants until the last couple of years. After being so nearsighted and with astigmatism, too, for most of my life, it’s really a miracle to see so well without glasses or contacts. As I said earlier, this surgery is so easy that I hope people who need it won’t be afraid of it. Maybe these videos and our personal experiences will be encouraging to anyone needs that!
Yes driving – I hope to get the glasses restriction off my license -I can see the eye chart NYS uses easily without glasses now. Since both eyes were done and are very close in correction my depth perception is very good. The Toric lens gives better correction than my other eye, no halos etc. Toric was not available in my prescription last year, was now.
gotglasses…thanks for your question. I have 20/20 reading vision and 20/25 distance vision. I haven’t got glasses yet but probably will one of these days. The most important thing is that I got my drivers license renewed–I’m like a teenager all over again, lol. Your surgery sounds like it went well for you. This video and others gave me a lot of peace of mind before my surgery. I know that some people wouldn’t want to watch, but for me, it made the process a lot easier.
How is your visual outcome? I finished a bit farsighted, but it is acceptable after 3 months, better than 20/40.I have both eyes done for distance and need to keep reading glasses with me for any close work. I use a +1 lens for night driving and see very well with that.
Wow, great video. I had this lens surgery for my second eye in July and have no astigmatism now. I was +1 far sighted, but that is improving gradually, often I can see 20/30 but mostly 20/50 in that eye. Both eyes together see better than 20/40. However with a simple +1 reader for driving my vision is sniper sharp. This for a lifetime myope is satisfying.
Glad you had such a nice experience. This new, “Advanced Technology” lens implant is state-of-the-art and performs exceedingly well in improving visual acuity and eliminating pre-existing corneal astigmatism. Good luch with what I’m sure will be a quick and uncomplicated post-operative course!
I had my second toric implant yesterday, and it was even easier than the first surgery (no IV needle discomfort this time). I was more aware of what was occurring, too, and it was quite interesting–kind of like having my own personal “light show” and actually pleasant. This surgery is such an easy experience that I hope anyone who needs it won’t be afraid of it and put it off.
I am home after having this surgery two hours ago. Didn’t feel a thing! The only discomfort was the IV needle which continued to hurt until the Versed began. Near the end of the surgery I felt a kind of “tickle” in my eye. I asked the doctor what he was doing then, and he said that he was putting the lens in. I could actually see! Can’t wait to take the bandage off after the anesthetic wears off. If you are having this surgery, don’t dread it. Look forward to it because it’s a piece of cake.
You will be quite pleased, I’m sure, post-operatively as the Alcon Toric IOL is a wonderful lens implant — correcting up to 2 diopters of corneal astigamtism —- that combined with clearer vision without the cataract makes for happy patients post-operatively. Good luck.
I am scheduled to have a toric lens implant one week from today. I won’t say that I’m looking forward to the procedure itself, but I will be happy to have had the surgery once it’s over! This video helps me understand what the surgeon will be doing–thanks for posting it here.
very nicely done. I like your technique of using two boluses of viscoelastic, one in the AC and one in the bag. And then removing the viscoelastic posterior to the optic first, then rotating the IOL into position, then removing the viscoelastic from the AC. Very smart — strong work. excellent
this vid was kinda hard to masterbait to but it all worked out in the end lolzz

This is a good Video with instructions. This is exactly how it is during the first direct chop. Excellently completed.
@MedyoX3 ha so true
Who the fuck was the first person to volunteer to try this…
Permata Hijrah is utter crap.Claims to work for cataract ,glaucoma, retinopathy reducing myopia and astigmatism. If they can actually do all that then the guys who developed it should be nominated for the Nobel prize in medicine!!!!
BTW they are not “Eye Professionals”whatever that means
permata hijrah….malaysian eye professional….without surgery..just some drop of liquid
XDDDD
