Does cataract surgery change the eye color?
Question by honiebyrd: Does cataract surgery change the eye color?
I recently had cataract surgery and I am pleased with the results. However, I noticed that my eyes are a lighter color now. A warm greenish color before surgery. A cooler blueish green now. Is this normal? Also I have black circles under my eyes now and didn’t before the surgery.

The cataracts were probably darkening your irises, or making you think they were darker by blocking light from coming in right.
The circles are just from tiredness and will receed in a few days time. The eyes are stretched open during the surgery causing the skin under the eyes to become ‘tired’ and the blood to pool insidle, its normal.
My mom had cataracts, anf. Surgery to fix them.
If your too woried call the surgeon who preformed the removal.
