Eyelid Ptosis Correction Surgery in High Speed
www.oculoplastic.info (310) 777-8880 Ptosis, pronounced toe-sis, is the medical term for drooping of the upper eyelids. The droopy eyelid can be mild to severe. People who have ptosis may complain that people tell them they look “tired or lazy.” Because of a constant effort to raise the eyelids it is not uncommon to also complain of fatigue and tension headaches. The most common reason for ptosis is acquired ptosis , which develops as we age. This is due to disinsertion of the tendon that holds the eyelid up in a normal anatomic position. Another cause is congenital ptosis , which happens when a child is born with droopy eyelids. This is rather an urgent medical condition for the child and surgery may be needed to prevent permanent loss of vision in the affected eye. Other rare causes of ptosis include myogenic ptosis from conditions such as Myasthenia gravis, neurogenic ptosis , due to third nerve palsy and mechanical ptosis from tumors or trauma.
One of The SOLD Project scholarship kids has “Amblyopia” (AKA. Lazy Eye) and was given the chance to have corrective surgery thanks to a generous donation and the support of her US sponsors. One month ago she had the surgery… here is a video of her progress. Thank you Noah & Danica, Heidi, Curtis & Evelyn

@ThePwnnubs That’s horrifying. You woke up during the surgery?
@D4RkxGAMING You can apparently get surgery done for ptosis at any age. Babies that are born with ptosis get surgery done normally straight away so that they don’t have problems with their eyesight growing up.
I recently found out that I might have ptosis. I’m going to an eye doctor soon to see what they say about it. I’m really worried though, because I’m not at all sure about the surgeries, one because I don’t have a lot of money and two because I’ve been getting mixed information about the surgeries. But the majority of information has people saying the operation went wrong and there were complications. = Is that the case? Is it more likely that there will be serious complications?
@TheEva4ever o_O
Why is that important?
@oculoplaticsurgery I’ve had blephroplasty where the cut pieces of my both eye lids ..because my eyelids kept goin down due to the fat bags inside of em…anyways the surgery went good however after few 6 weeks and removing stitches , I must say that I don’t like the shape ,my left eye is way diferrent , my right eye got the shape of a triangle on top of that i still feel the heaviness that i used to feel before the surgery due to the fat bags..anyways doctor in cases like me what do u suggest?
This is wonderful. I had surgery in the 1950′s (sling) – didn’t work. Tried it again – didn’t work. Had 3rd surgery in 1977 looks about 5% better towards the outter corner. I gave up. I always wanted eyes the same size. Guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Why are the other surgeries on here diffrent? They do it on the outside of the eyelid,
Nice done, I have the same problem my right eye, so is it cover by insurance? If not how much it cost me? just one eye
o man what she wakes up
My right eyelid occasionally sags, short periods of time (couple of days).
What might be the reason?
I hear a lot of stories about how oculoplastic surgery for ptosis going wrong. Why is that? I know it takes around 6 months or so for it to completely heal and that you won’t be guaranteed results until then, but why does it seem like there’s such a low success rate for these surgeries?
Does it hurt a lot?
where can I find info about dr. Kami’s biography? like what year he was born, his marital status etc. Thanks.
im 13 years old and i have ptosis on my right eye i realy wanna get surgery do you think i can at my age
@pashaforv I recommend getting ASAP! my brother in law had it just how your describing it,,, very low but now he’s 40 and it’s like bad!
@pashaforv
The surgery is either performed from the inside the eyelid which has no scaring or from the outside where the incision is made on the eyelid crease so it heals very well without any scarring
I have mild ptosis on my left eye.. I know with time it will not gett better (i am 33) with time I guess skin will sag more as I am getting older.. I never had any surgery’s done.. realy scared of scards as its my face.. and my eye area.. How about Scars? how bad is scaring? I know they say its in eye crease.. but still how “simple” is the surgery and how bad is scaring? also will I need another surgery in a few years when skin sag due to age?
@tubecongable One week
thats what happened to me i was asleep but the problem was i woke up in the middle of the surgery!
Hi, i want to know if the only way for ptosis to be cured is surgery? i have congenital ptosis and i have surgery once but i’m not satisfied with the result …. and im not thinking of going to the same procedures … i want to know if i can train in someway my eyelid muscles?

@BRITTNEYFICATION I have marcus gunn syndrome too, and have been wondering the same thing. Also how much it costs, considering a lot of insurance companies won’t cover the issue unless the ptosis is so bad that your entire lid is covered.
My sister has this problem
