If you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Pregnant people are not able to have laser eye correction until after they have stopped breastfeeding for at least 3 months.

Diabetes

If you manage to control your diabetes well then you may still be able to have laser eye correction but you will not no for definite until after a consultation.

You suffer from Glaucoma

Unfortunately if you suffer from optic nerve damage caused by glaucoma you will not be suitable. But if you suffer from hypertension and have no optic nerve damage then you should be able to have laser eye correction but again this will not be known for sure until after a consultation.

You are under 18 years old

Due to legal reasons you will have to be 18 years or older to be able to have laser eye correction.

You have thin corneas

If you suffer from thin corneas then you will not be eligible to have LASIK laser eye sugary but you will still be able to have the LASEK surgery, unless your prescription is severe in which case you could still have implantable contact lenses.

You wear Bi-focals

If you have to wear reading glasses unfortunately you will have to continue to wear them as the cause of this is age related.

Does Laser Eye Correction Work

The short answer is yes, but not for everyone.

If you do your homework well before going through with the treatment then you should be able to lower your risks. Laser eye correction cannot be guaranteed to work and you may still have to wear glasses but the doctors are highly trained individuals and if they believe it will work for you after a consultation then chances are it will.
