Should I still be nearsighted after cataract surgery?

Question by the bellepepper: Should I still be nearsighted after cataract surgery?
I am disappointed that I am still nearsighted after cataract surgery. I trust my Dr. but thought I would be seeing much better after the surgery and am still a -1.25. This is better than before the surgery but is it normal?

All the cataract surgery does is remove the CLOUD that you see right now. In fact the little lens they put in has little fillaments on either end and you will end up seeing those float around…kind of like the little dots you sometimes see if you whip your eye from side to side. My grandma complained she didn’t see any better afterwards either but she was in her 80s! Hope it works out better for you. You need laser surgery if you want perfect vision….it basically shaves off and reshapes the surface of your eye into the perfect shape it needs to be to see 20/20. That’s all glasses do too is correct that deficiency.

Wear your sunglasses with UVA/B protection kiddies—that is what causes cataracts.
